For owners and executives
Your company's history has value. You decide what happens to it.
Austral helps a company license its historical data assets to US-based AI companies, after privacy review, at no cost to the business.
Three promises
No cost to you
There are no fees to the business. Austral is compensated by the buyer side.
Nothing sensitive leaves without review
Personal and sensitive information is reviewed and removed before any sale, and Austral will make sure that happens. Management reviews and approves exactly what is shared before anything leaves the company.
You choose the systems
You decide which systems are included and how information is anonymized. Austral works in a partnership model alongside you.
Who buys, and why
US AI companies need real-world business records to train and evaluate their systems. They are not interested in who a company’s customers, employees or suppliers are. They want to learn how a real company quotes, sources, stocks and ships, day to day.
Buyers are US-based AI labs, US public companies and US-regulated AI businesses that Austral trusts. The specific buyer depends on the assets. Austral does not work with foreign buyers.
What it asks of you
About 30 minutes for a first call, then access to the systems you approve. The whole process typically takes 3 to 6 weeks.
Please do not cancel or let lapse any software accounts in the meantime. Software providers often delete data within weeks of an account closing or going unpaid.
If you would rather stop paying for subscriptions, Austral helps find self-managed storage options and set up a one-time download of the company’s data into storage you control. A specialist will contact you for the privacy review.
What stays protected
- Personal and sensitive information, such as names, contact details, government ID numbers, and health and financial details, is reviewed and removed before any sale. Austral will make sure that happens.
- Customer, supplier and employee identities are excluded or fully anonymized.
- Customer payment details, negotiated pricing terms, and lender and banking records stay out entirely.
- You decide what is included and what stays out. Only what you are comfortable licensing is licensed.
Questions owners ask
Is this legal?
Companies license business records to buyers as a normal commercial transaction. Whether a specific license is permitted depends on your contracts, your privacy policy and applicable law, so counsel should review it. A specialist will contact you to walk through the review steps.
Will my customers' information be exposed?
Nothing sensitive leaves without review. Personal and sensitive information is reviewed and removed before any sale. You choose which systems are included and how information is anonymized, and Austral will make sure that review happens before anything is sold.
What if my company is in bankruptcy?
A sale or license of company assets in bankruptcy may require court approval. Austral works alongside your attorney or trustee, who will advise on the process. Share this page with counsel.

Typical licenses range from $35K to $350K depending on company size and record types.
These are estimates, not guarantees. Value scales mainly with headcount and the depth of the records.
